ABOUT  US
Who We Are
Futura Systems is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of turnkey Test and Assembly solutions. The company is part of the Directech Engineering Group that delivers automated engineering solutions to a wide range of industries across the globe.

With over 50 years’ industry experience, Futura Systems has built an enviable reputation for delivering high quality and bespoke testing and assembly solutions designed to improve operational efficiency across a multitude of demanding sectors, including Aerospace, Automotive and Food Manufacturing.

What We Do
Futura Systems designs and builds bespoke automated machines and systems to meet product compliance testing or CMM requirements. We can build hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical test machines tailored to customer specifications.

Utilising the latest Solid Edge, SolidWorks, , AutoCad, Eplan and HydroSym 2D & 3D CAD modelling technologies, our experienced in-house design team is able to build complex models and assemblies of testing machines that are tailored to meet exact customer specifications.

All equipment we supply is fully compliant with relevant governing Directives, be it Machinery, Low Voltage, Pressure or ATEX. Our COMPEX certified engineers have extensive experience in working within hazardous areas and can design, build, and commission ATEX compliant systems.

The Way We Work
We adopt a collaborative approach to our bespoke projects and place a strong emphasis on two-way communications with our customers throughout the entire process. At the start of the project we give the customer access to our online Project Management tool, so they have live updates on the Project Plan, Action Lists, and Risk Registers.

The design process is critical to the success of any project. Our comprehensive Design Process ensures that we all know what we are trying to achieve at every stage and avoids any disappointment or nasty surprises.

We give our design process the BEARS acronym which is an expansion on the traditionally adopted PDR-CDR-FDR design process.

Brainstorm – A crucial part of our design process, where our customers can include input from managers or operators who will be using the machines, or anyone else you want to have a Design input from. This ensures we capture everyone’s expectations/requirements at the start of the process, not later on in the design process or even worse when the product is built!

Engineering – This is the stage where the design is developed by our team and includes the Preliminary Design Review with the customer.

Assessment – There are two parts to this stage. First our internal Risk Assessment, then onto a detailed Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP)with the customer. The greater variety of people involved the better as different people may spot different hazards. This stage is vital to ensure a safe and compliant machine or product.

Review & Review again – During this process we update the design following HAZOP, close out any actions, and review the updated design internally. This is followed by a Critical Design Review with our customer.

Sign-off – This includes any final updates from the Critical Design Review before final sign off by the customer.

Once the Design Process has been completed, our collaborative project management tools track the progress of projects in real time and provide transparency throughout the process.
